Living a Christian Life

Therese Tamm Selander , Phd student in Church History at Uppsala University, will present her study on the daily Christian life of Mathilda Foy (1813-1869) who was engaged in the Evangelical revival movement  in Stockholm, Sweden. Mathilda Foy is mostly famous for establishing one of earliest examples of a Swedish Sunday school and as editor and writer of one of the first Swedish magazines for children. The study takes its theoretical standpoint from “Lived Religion” and the focus is on practices in the daily life. The presentation will include a reflection on how the study relates to issues of privacy.
