Inaugural lecture by professor Helle Vogt.

On 22 May 2018, professor of legal history, Helle Vogt, gave her Inaugural lecture at the Faculty of Law, UCPH.

Professor Vogt was welcomed by the Dean of Faculty, Jacob Graff Nielsen, who congratulated her on the appointment and emphasized Helle Vogt’s many contributions to the field of legal history.

Professor Vogt’s lecture focused on the interplay between private and public in Medieval and Early Modern Period Denmark. The lecture revolved around examples of sexual conduct, festive cultures and codes of Dispute settlement, norms of honour, and conventions of celebrating and dressing to illustrate how the concept of privacy and the interplay between public and private can contribute to the field of legal history.

The event was completed with a reception for colleagues and audience.

Helle Vogt was awarded professorship in Legal History in April 2018. She has been involved as a core scholar at Centre for Privacy Studies since its opening.
