New Postdoc employee: Lars Cyril Nørgaard

Lars Cyril Nørgaard

Lars Cyril Nørgaard is employed as Postdoc at Centre for Privacy Studies, starting 1 March 2018.

Lars' research centres on the paradoxes of religious withdrawal from the world. He has worked extensively on lay devotion in Early Modern Europe and taken specific interest in its material underpinnings.

From June 2018 until 2020, Lars will pursue research into the devotional praxis of Louis XIV’s second wife, Madame de Maintenon - funded by Danmarks Frie Forskningsfond (DFF-International Postdoc). His research will be carried out in affiliation with the University of Durham, Université Paris Sorbonne 4, University of Cambridge and PRIVACY.

Lars is cand.teol. from UCPH and holds a PhD from the project SOLITUDES: Withdrawal and engagement in the long seventeenth century (ERC) at Department of Church History, Faculty of Theology, UCPH.

Since then, he has been a visiting scholar at University of Durham and Sorbonne IV, Paris, and Postdoc at the Department of Church History, Faculty of Theology, UCPH.
