Associate Professor Karen Lauterbach writes review of the Nigerian novel "Freshwater"

Associate Professor Karen Lauterbach has written a book review of the Nigerian novel "Freshwater", written by Akwaeke Emezi. The book follows the girl Ada, who is ogbanje (an igbo spirit-child), and her life as a person who is more than one. This captivating story operates within several realities, breaks with the traditional idea of genre, and challenges us as readers and our understanding of fact and fiction. "Freshwater" is part of the complex and excellent Nigerian literary tradition, and is definitely worth a read!
