CAS welcomes PhD fellow Hamida Massaquoi
CAS welcomes Hamida Massaquoi, our new PhD fellow at the faculty.
Hamida holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Metropolitan University College Copenhagen, Denmark and later pursued a master’s degree in International Health from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
She joined the Centre of African Studies as a PhD fellow in February 2021.
Hamida's research interest lies in maternal health and adolescent sexual and reproductive health, and her current research seeks to explore the psychosocial experiences of adolescent girls in Christian faith communities and how they are affected by adolescent pregnancy and motherhood in Sierra Leone. Her PhD fellowship is a joint studentship with School of International Development, University of East Anglia (UK)
