The Stabilising Anchor of the Sahel is Threatened
Associate professor at CAS, Stig Jensen has written an article on the recent killing of Chadian president Idriss Déby, and how this might have very big repercussions for the entire Sahel region. He analyses how Chad has been a sort of stabilising anchor in the unstable region of the Sahel, and how the killing of the recently reelected president and military leader might become a contention point that can unsettle the already fragile and conflict-ridden Sahel.
