Conflicts in Africa
By Bjørn Møller
Tuesday 15-17. First session Tuesday 9th of September 2008
The aim of the course is to provide an overview of some recent and on-going conflicts in Africa with a special focus on their possible resolution. In addition to a general introduction to conflict theory, the course will focus on a number of cases, selected as examples of different types of conflict and/or different modes of conflict management and resolution. The course concludes with a survey of the various actors and their respective roles, including the possible role of Denmark, e.g. by means of development aid.
Format: Mainly lectures, but if there is interest in this among the participants, some space will be provided for student interventions.
