Royal Danish Academy of Science and Letters awards grant to PhD Fellow at PRIVACY

The Niels Bohr Fund has generously awarded Bastian Vaucanson 10,000 DKK for conducting research in the archives of Saint Sulpice in Paris during the spring of 2019. Bastian’s research will focus on uncovering private letters of spiritual direction and other devotional texts written by François Fénelon in the early 1690’s with a view to investigating how notions of privacy emerge in the intersection between the political and the spiritual at the court of Versailles.
