PRIVACY 'Learning-Together Seminars'

Summer is drawing to an end and the PRIVACY team is now almost complete. And with so many competences available at the Centre, across our four disciplines of Architecture, Law, Religion and Political History, we have decided to initiate a new series of hands-on ‘Learning-Together Seminars’.

The first ‘Learning-Together Seminar’ focused on English Palaeography and was held by PhD fellow, Anni Haahr Henriksen. Anni introduced the specialized terminology of Early Modern English Palaeography and furthermore provided hands-on experience with deciphering 16th century handwritten texts. For this ‘Learning-Together Seminar’, the focus was on two 16th century wills from the English National Archives’ recently digitized collection ‘Wills 1384-1858’. This collection is useful to the PRIVACY case team working on Westminster 1558-1603, and, as such, the ‘Learning-Together Seminars’ are not only a means of exchanging tools and competences, they are also introductions to different kinds of relevant source material and archive collections.

Over the next semester, we will continue to learn together and we are already looking forward to getting to grips with the intricacies of Architectural Blueprints, French Palaeography and Early Modern Danish Lawsuits.
