PRIVACY Postdoc Pernille Knudsen Gave Talk on the Last Danish Public Execution at Christianshavn Bogfestival

On Saturday 27 April during the Christianshavn Book Festival, Pernille Ulla Knudsen gave a talk on the last public execution.

In 1757, the criminal Christian Juul Jensen had his last walk through Copenhagen to the scaffold in Amager, where he was executed on a spring morning a little more than 250 years ago. Through the story of this unfortunate man, guilty of the murder of his wife, Pernille Ulla Knudsen gave an overall view of the the Early Modern Danish capital and the conditions of the people living there.
