PRIVACY scholars at Cambridge Conference: the Body and Politics
PRIVACY scholars will attend the Body and Politics Conference hosted by Cambridge Graduate Studies in Political Thought and Intellectual History (Cambridge Grad PTIH) on 18 March 2019.
PRIVACY PostDoc Anna Becker is the invited keynote speaker. Cambridge Grad PTIH writes as the motivation for her invitation on their website: "The work of our keynote speaker, Dr Anna Becker, on the gendered body in early modern political thought, suggests a powerful research agenda for future intellectual history to consider the multifaceted ways in which the body can be read into, and through, the political."
The conference encourages graduate researchers to take up this agenda, centering the body – human, animal, sacred, and political – in histories of political thought and scholarship.
PRIVACY PhD Fellow Anni Haahr Henriksen will also attend a panel and give the lecture Disarm contentious minds: The Private Mind in the Elizabethan Body of Political Thought.
