PRIVACY Research Director to advise politicians about research and innovation.
Prof. Mette Birkedal Bruun has been appointed as one of four new members of The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy.
The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy (DFiR) is a council under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science. It is charged with the responsibility of providing the Minister of Higher Education and Science and others with independent and expert advice on research, technological development and innovation at system level.
From April, Mette Birkedal Bruun will join the council and take part in advising the Ministry on the progress of Danish research, technology development, and innovation, all benefitting the society.
Mette Birkedal Bruun is Professor of Church History and director of the cross-disciplinary Danish National Research Foundation Centre for Privacy Studies (PRIVACY). The PRIVACY research team examines how notions of privacy and the private shape relations between individuals and society across diverse historical contexts bringing together the fields of Church History, History of Architecture, History of Ideas, Legal History and Social History.
The Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy consists of a chair and eight members, all appointed by the Danish Minister of Education and Research. The new chair is Professor Frede Blaabjerg of Aalborg University.
