The HEALTH & SCIENCE Theme at the Centre for Privacy Studies is looking for an intern for the spring semester of 2025

This particular project examines scientific knowledge formation from a historical perspective, with a special focus on identifying the role of privacy in medical experiments. The project uses a quantitative methodology to map Anglophone medical journals from 1665 to 1800.

We are looking for a history student who wants to help process large historical datasets. Your tasks will consist of annotating medical journals in order to train an open-source AI model to parse through the large corpus of the project. During the internship, you will also be part of the research project, attending meetings, lectures, and seminars. You will be able to gain insight into professional academic research and proficiency with digital tools. Furthermore, during the internship, you will have the opportunity to work on your own publication related to the research project in the form of a blog post or short article, for example.

We imagine that the internship will take the form of a part-time internship, starting in February.

Both bachelor and master students are welcome to apply.

As the research project is led by international researchers and given the source material, proficiency in English is a requirement.

To apply, send a brief bio and cover letter (max. one page) in English via this form below.

The application deadline is 6 January 2025 at noon.
