The center welcomes new guest researcher Hui-Yi Yang
This spring we are happy to welcome Hui-Yi Yang as guest researcher at the center.
Hui-Yi has a master's degree in Spatial Design from the Royal Danish Academy– Architecture, Design, Conservation (KADK).
At PRIVACY, her research will take the form of a comparative study of privacy within the bed box of Rembrandt’s House during the residency of Rembrandt’s wife, Saskia, from 1639 to 1642, and the bed within the Siraya ethnicity's House in Formosa (now Taiwan) during Dutch colonization (1624 to 1662) and after. The aim is to understand how the inception of 'privacy' influenced the Siraya’s worldly rituals performed in relation to sleep, illness, and death.
We are looking forward to collaborating with Hui-Yi and welcoming new perspectives and projects to the center!
