Alexander Johansson joins PRIVACY in October
We are pleased to welcome Alexander Johansson to the Centre for Privacy Studies. He joins the centre as a visiting PhD fellow from Lund University, where he is pursuing a PhD in the history of ideas and science.
At present, Alexander is working on the first chapter of his thesis, Demonic Possession in Early Modern Sweden: medicalization of the supernatural. One of the aims of his thesis is to delineate how beliefs in witchcraft and demonology became marginalized in public space during the 18th century, and, as he argues, became more private during the century.
During his stay, Alexander is engaging with privacy research to gain further insight into how theoretical perspectives can be applied to his source material.
We look forward to the insights Alexander will contribute to the centre.
