PRIVACY at the European Architectural History Network Conference
From 17-21 June 2026, PRIVACY researchers attended the 9th Biannual Conference of the European Architectural History Network in Aarhus. PRIVACY was represented in three different panels covering many different topics.

PRIVACY researchers Natalie Körner and Bastian Vaucanson gave an interdisciplinary presentation titled ‘God, Guns, and Governance: Spirituality in the Schimmelmann Chapel’, combining architecture historical and church historical perspectives. Natalie and Bastian report that their presentation resonated with the other participants and the church historical perspective spurred interest and questions among the architectural historians at the conference. Vice versa, Bastian finds that the architectural perspective adds depth to the church historical perspective. In the same panel on architecture and religion, external core-scholar, Maarten Delbeke from ETH Zurich did a presentation on the rebuilding of St. Gallen Landkirchen and Catholic Enlightenment.

Another panel on privacy and the private was chaired by affiliated PRIVACY-scholar, Nuno Grancho. On this panel, core scholar Peter Thule Kristensen gave a presentation on Bindesbøll’s Psychiatric Hospitals and Prison Projects.
Last but not least, affiliated PRIVACY-scholar, Solmaz Sadeghi co-chaired a panel titled ‘Caring for Aging’.
We enjoy that our research and interdisciplinary approaches resonate with scholars from different disciplines working on a broad variety of topics. The feedback and questions are very appreciated and help us reflect on our own research in new ways.
