Religiøse billeder og politisk teologi i popkultur
Et af de mest likede og delte opslag på det sociale medie Instagram er af den amerikanske sangerinde Beyoncé, som på billedet er gravid og omgivet af blomster. Billedet er en kraftig symbolsk omfavnelse af religiøse sorte madonna-billeder og et hårdt politisk teologisk budskab. Man kan nærmest høre tonerne til "Who run the world? (Beyoncé)"
Billedet er et ud af mange eksempler på, hvordan religiøse former og teologiske budskaber anvendes i populærkulturens kaskader af billeder, sound-bites og hurtige snapshots af en formgivet virkelighed. Dette omfangsrige fænomen kalder på et nærmere studie, da populærkulturen er en aktiv medspiller i kirkelivet, religiøse forestillinger og ikke mindst næste generations livssyn.
Konferencen ”Religiøse billeder og politisk teologi i popkultur” den 16. – 17. november 2020 tager emnet op bl.a. via konferencens tre nordiske hovedtalere. Teemu Taira (University of Helsiniki) tager emnet om religion i James Bond film op, Anne Katrine de Hemmer Gudme (Oslo Universitet) vil tage fat på bibelske kogebøger og måltider, mens Jonas Otterbeck (Aga Khan University, London) ser nærmere på religion i arabisk popmusik.
Konferencen afholdes i samarbejde med Lund Universitets Center for Teologi og Religionsviden og er derfor delt i en dansk del (den 16. november) og en svensk (den 17. november).
